Toyota Racing Series
NZ’s premier single-seater class is back this year and stronger than ever. TRS secured a fantastic line-up of NZ and international drivers last season and we look forward to more of the same this year.
Toyota Racing Series was designed as the perfect platform for our young rising stars looking for an international racing career. With identical chassis, engines and electronic management systems the challenge for the drivers and teams is to find the perfect set-up at different circuits and adapt to changing conditions.
Contesting five back-to-back events, this season will see the International Series start on 13-15 January with the Championship Series at Invercargill to contest the Denny Hulme Memorial Trophy and then to Timaru the following weekend. They move on to the Taupo circuit for the last weekend of January and then to Hampton Downs in the first weekend of February to contest a trophy steeped in rich history; the New Zealand Motor Cup. They then rejoin the Championship Series the following weekend at Manfeild in Feilding for the finale of their International Series and Championship to contest the New Zealand Grand Prix.
The history and allure surrounding the trophies ensures that they are fiercely contested each year and Toyota Racing Series ensure the proud tradition of single seater racing is continued in this country.
